Presently, Bumimedic has an agreement with Amarillo Biosciences USA to develop the low dose Interferon Alpha Lozenges (natural human IFN).
Under the license and supply agreement, Bumimedic acquired the rights to manufacture and distribute the oral dose IFN products in Malaysia. Worldwide clinical trials are in progress.
The company has also embarked in the field of cell and cancer therapy and has several on-going collaborations with global research and development institutions. A collaboration agreement was signed with Sirtex Australia to develop the use of a patented SIR-Spheres system for the treatment of liver cancer. |

Cartilage Cell Implantation derived from in-vitro expansion of autologus chondrocytes harvested from a patient’s normal femoral articular cartilage. Biopsies from a non-weight bearing area are isolated and expanded through cell cultivation process, and ultimately transplanted into articular cartilage defects. The normal cartilage is harvested and transported to SewonCellotech’s specialized GMP laboratory. After the culture period of 4 weeks, it is transported back to the local surgeon for transplantation.
